Thomas Leo Clancy Jr. (April 12, 1947 – October 1, 2013) was an American novelist best known for his technically detailed espionage and military-science storylines set during and after the Cold War. Seventeen of his novels were bestsellers, and more than 100 million copies of his books are in print.[1] His name was also used on movie scripts written by ghostwriters, nonfiction books on military subjects, and video games.

Wharton was the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1921 for her novel The Age of Innocence.

the-age-of-innocenceWharton had other works as well.  The Greater Inclination (1899), Crucial Instances (1901), Descent of Man (1904) and her novella named, Ethan Frome (1911)-her best known, most successful piece of work.  In 1915 she was also awarded the Cross of the Legion of Honor by the French government for her services during World War I.
