TUESDAY TALENT

While at the African American Museum in Washington D.C a certain face stuck out to me, so I decided to do more research. Charles W. Chesnutt, born June 20th, 1848 was an African American author, lawyer, essayist and political activist. He wrote most of his works on racial and social identity in a post-Civil War South. Some of his works include ‘The Conjure Woman’ and ‘The House Behind the Cedars’. I’m happy I was able to learn more on this historical figure.
